Hi there, I am Katya an illustrator based in Edinburgh. I studied graphic design and had a wiggly career path, but have always kept on doodling.
About 10 years ago I started making illustrations on a more regular basis and then started my Etsy shop.
Most of work is a combination of buildings that I like, cartoon like characters and flower arrangements. Whatever the subject matter I use a play of squiggly outlines off set and superposed on colour backgrounds in order to create shapes.
With bright colours and unperfect alignments, I like to see the play on the dynamic between the line and the colouring which never align, but create the dynamism that I try to convey.
